nick von kleist / nvk

nvk is a writer & artist who creates multidisciplinary work exploring themes and formats that combine poetry and drag with gaming subcultures. Their work rejects the singularity and fixedness of identity, showing its mutability, porousness and dialogic need for an other. Through performance and video, nvk examines how the interface manifests both physically and virtually, questioning what its design, codes and filters are producing both within and between us.

Recent collaborations include Autumn Knight, Dora García, Josh Anio Grigg, Kris Lemsalu, Michelangelo Miccolis, and Nikima Jagudajev. nvk is the Producer for IMMATERIAL performance program hosted by Material Art Fair (Mexico City), and a Producer at Shedhalle (Zurich) from 2020-2025. Cooking and hosting is a staple to nvk’s practice, both as a producer and artist.
